Architectural Design
Our architecture is driven by a belief that the quality of our surroundings has a direct influence on the quality of our lives, whether at home, in the workplace, the cultural building or the public realm.
Design in that sense is all-embracing, ranging from the functional and environmental performance of a building to a concern for its physical and cultural context. Not least is a concern for the 'poetic' dimension, such as we find in the modelling and sculpting of spaces by natural light.
City Design
We applies a holistic approach to the study of the city, exploring patterns of behaviour, demographics and the hidden systems that influence the built environment, from the property market to underground infrastructure. We draws on an extensive body of data to inform the design process.
By analysing trends influencing cities today, they help us to create communities for the future.
Interiors
We believe that architecture should provide a seamless experience, from outside to inside. The starting point is to gain an understanding of a client’s needs and the way in which a room, or sequence of spaces will be used.
The quality of light, the choice of materials, the use of colour, and the selection of furnishings and works of art are coordinated as part of the overall scheme; and each element involves the same process of questioning and refinement as the building itself.
RESEARCH
Our design decisions are informed by detailed analysis. We invest in innovation and have been at the forefront in developing new design tools. Over a period of more than 20 years we have pioneered technological advances in our working methods, and worked closely with industry to develop the application of new materials and construction techniques in individual projects.
Our research into sustainable environments has allowed us to bring our expertise to bear on a wide range of projects; and our post-occupancy research allows us to refine design solutions to ensure long-term flexibility.
The above mentioned design services are all supported by visualization works. Drawing is a way of thinking and communicating. We use it to calculate, to cut through buildings, look at how they fit together three-dimensionally and explore how spaces relate to each other. Communications and visualisation designer works with the architects to produce everything from hand-drawn sketches to computer renderings, animations and motion graphics.
As well as creating still images for use in exhibitions, publications and the press, they are able to script, storyboard, score and direct short films - all of which can help a client to understand the essence of a project at its earliest stages.
Many visualization works are also been done to complete architectural projects as signage to identify spaces or as advertise for cultural events and products. Exhibition, Conferences, Slide and Video Presentation, Publications, Essays are also considered by us as means for design support.
